Profile of Members ![]() Ying Han Fan School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Curtin University Chair, the Global Chinese Accounting Association (GCAA) Dr Fanreceived a Bachelor of Accounting from Jiangxi University of Finance andEconomics in 1984, and studied in the international accounting and taxationclass of Xiamen University from 1989 to 1990. She received a Master of Commerce(Accounting) in 2004 and a Ph.D. in 2008 from Curtin University. She was aLecturer in Yunnan University of Economics and Finance in the 1980s. She workedas an auditor in a large accounting firm in Shenzhen in the 1990s. Before shejoined the School of Accounting, Curtin University, she was a FinancialAccountant in the Supreme Court of West Australia. Dr Fan coordinated andtaught across several undergraduate and postgraduate units. She also hassupervised Ph.D. and honours students and has won the different teaching excellenceawards in the School of Accounting e.g., Teacher of Year 2012. Dr Fan’sexpertise is in the behavioral research in accounting/auditing. She has been an Executive member of the Strategic Review Board of Curtin BusinessSchool since 2019. Apart from the above, Dr Fan is the founding member and Chair of theGlobal Chinese Accounting Association (GCAA). Under her leadership, the GCAAhas become an important business partner of Curtin University, the Associationof Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and the Institute of ManagementAccountants (IMA). More importantly, the GCAA was included in the AccountingYearbook of China 2020 based on its contributions to accounting education andresearch. Dr Fan was awarded a Curtin University International Engagement:Global Positioning Award by the Faculty of Business and Law, Curtin Universityfor her contributions in the promotion of accounting education and research. In2022, she received a grant of $65,120 from the Australian Government National Foundation Australia-China Relationsfor theproject of 5th Global Chinese Accounting Association (GCAA) Summit 2023. She is the winner of the Engagement Australia: International Engagement Award 2022. ![]() Donghui Li College of Economics, Shenzhen University Dr. Donghui Li, graduated and worked at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, for 19 years between 1996 and 2015, is currently a Professor of Finance in the College of Economics at Shenzhen University. His research focuses on corporate governance/financial institutions/international corporate finance. His publications include the following papers in leading finance journals: Journal of Finance, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. In addition, his publications appear in the following internationally renowned finance journals: Journal of Banking and Finance (4 papers); Journal of Corporate Finance (3 papers); Journal of Risk and Insurance (2 papers); Journal of International Money and Finance (2 papers); Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, among many others. He serves as a referee for numerous finance journals, including Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Risk and Insurance. His Chinese publications appear in leading Chinese academic journals, including Research in Economics, Management World, and so on. He has successfully obtained significant research funding in China and Australia, including National Natural Science Funding and National Social Science Funding in China, and Large Australian Research Council Discovery in Australia. His graduated PhD students have positioned well in worldwide universities, including Monash University in Australia, Reading University in the UK, and Shenzhen University in China, among others. ![]() George Shan Dr. George Shan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance of the Business School at the University of Western Australia. He holds Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Applied Finance, Master of Commerce (Accounting) and completed his PhD in Accounting and Corporate Governance. George is CA (Australia), CPA (Australia), MIPA and CMA (Australia). Previously, he worked at several universities including University of South Australia, University of Ballarat, the University of Adelaide and University of Rome Tor Vergata. His research areas and interests include corporate governance and its related topics within accounting and finance. He has published over 20 academic journal papers based in recent five years, including Journal of Business Ethics, Australian Journal of Management, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Emerging Markets Review, Family Business Review, Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, Modern Asian Studies, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Accounting & Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Journal of Cleaner Production and International Journal of Managerial Finance. ![]() Fan-Hua Kung Fan-Hua Kung, is an Associate Professor of Accounting in the College of Business and Management at Tamkang University in Taiwan. His research and teaching interests are in corporate governance, management accounting, and auditing. He is a consultant of Taiwan Financial Reporting Standards Committee, Editorial board of Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Vice President of Institute of Management Accountants- Taipei Chapter. He has more than 20 professional publications and many editorial and reviewing roles. ![]() Man Wang Wang Man is a professorand doctoral supervisor of the School of Accounting in Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. At the same time, she has held key positions in several associations, including Commissioner of the Management Accounting Professional Committee of the Accounting Society of China; Member of the Board of Supervisors of China Association of Chief Financial Officers; Member of Standardization Committee of Enterprise Financial Management Association of China ; Finance expert of High-tech Enterprise Expert Advisory Steering Committee of Torch Center of Ministry of Science and Technology; Expert of the Alliance for Promotion and Application of Management Accounting in Industry and Information and Communication Industry; Member of Editorial Board of "Chinese Management Accounting", "Management Accounting Research","Financial Management Research" and other journals; Expert of CGMA100; China Management accounting academic consultant of American Instituteof Management Accountants (IMA) ; Expert of International Alliance for Management Accounting Education. Her main research fields are management accounting and financial management. She studied at the University of Melbourne in Australiafor one year and the University of Arkansas in the United States for half ayear as a state-sponsored visiting scholar. She has published more than 100 academic papers, presided over more than 10 projects of national Social Science Fund and provincial and ministerial level, and has published more than 10 monographs and textbooks. ![]() Qinggang Wang Qinggang Wang has a Ph.D. in Management and is a Doctoral supervisor in management. He is a full-time Professor in the Accounting School at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. He is also a team leader of the MOOC course of Internal Control and risk Management, which is the Hubei Province and National Excellent Online Open Course and the Acting Head of Professional Training Center at the School of Accounting of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law from July 2017 up to date. Qinggang visited Curtin University as a visiting scholar in 2009 and 20 other prestigious universities, including Oxford University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, University of Glasgow, the Australian National University, City University of Hong Kong, National Chengchi University etc. He is the Director of Banking Accounting Society of China, Director of Wuhan Accounting Institute, Member of Chinese Institute of the Certified Public Accountant, Advanced member of Accounting Society of China, and an independent director of several listed companies. ![]() Feida (Frank) Zhang Dr. Feida (Frank) Zhang is an Associate Professor of Accounting in UQ Business School. He obtained his PhD from Hong Kong Baptist University and MPhil from Xiamen University. His research investigates accounting information, corporate finance, corporate governance, and many other empirical accounting and finance issues. His papers have been published or accepted in leading academic journals including Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance (three papers), European Accounting Review (two papers), and Journal of Business Ethics (three papers), Accounting Horizons. He has more than ten papers invited for re-submission to high-quality journals (R&R), such as Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Banking & Finance, and Journal of Business Finance and Accounting. Frank's research papers have been accepted for presentation at a number of highly regarded international conferences and won Best Paper Awards from AAA annual conference (2013, 2017) and AFAANZ annual conference (2016). ![]() Yan Wang Dr. Wang is a Professor and a PhD Supervisor. She received her PhD in accounting from Wuhan University and was a postdoctoral fellow in financial management of Central University of Finance and Economics. She is the Chief expert of National Social Science Foundation of China for the key project “Research on mechanism innovation and practice path of deepening mixed ownership reform”, and the Director of sub-provincial key research base of Humanities and Social Sciences “Research Center for Accounting and Economic Development of Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area”. She is the Yunshan Outstanding Scholar of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, a senior accountant and a Chinese Certified Public Accountant. She was a visiting scholar of University of Western Australia, and Curtin University, Australia. In 2019, she was selected into the International High-Level Accounting Talent of the Ministry of Finance (only 10 professors from Chinese universities were selected to training program). She has presided over more than 10 national and provincial projects. She has published more than 40 papers in CSSCI authoritative journals such as Management World, Nankai Business Review, Accounting Research, Business Review and in SSCI journal such as Accounting Forum. She has published 2 monographs in Chinese and 1 monograph in English in authoritative press such as Science Press, Economic Science Press and Springer. She won the second prize of the 8th Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award of Guangdong Province in 2019 and the third Prize of the 7th Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award of Guangdong Province in 2017. She is currently an expert of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, an expert of the Peer Review Committee of the National Social Science Fund, an expert of the Science and Technology Department of Guangdong Province, and a decision-making consultant in the “Guangzhou City Optimizing Business Environment Consulting Expert Database (25 members in total)” approved for the first time by the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee of Comprehensive Rule by law. Her research interests focus on accounting, financial management, auditing, taxation and corporate governance. ![]() Xudong Chen Xudong Chen, is currently a Professor in the School of Accounting at Yunnan University of Economics and a member of University of Professor Committee. Professor Chen mainly engages in financial accounting practice research, including application of accounting standards, corporate accounting system design, internal control, corporate tax planning, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions. He has published research papers in the following journals: Exploration of Economic Issues, Finance and Accounting, Financial and Accounting Monthly, Friends of Accounting, Journal of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, and Chinese Forensic Expertise. He has been lecturing on Intermediate Financial Accounting, Advanced Financial Accounting and other courses. He also services as Independent Director of Yunnan Chengtou Real Estate Co. He is the Nominal Principal of Kunming Wuhua Zhuguang Accounting Training School and a Chief Consultant of Yunnan Juesheng Enterprise Management Company. ![]() Joseph Zhang Joseph Zhang is currently an Associate Professor of Accounting and George Johnson fellow at University of Memphis, USA. His primary research focus is capital markets in auditing and financial accounting. He teaches the Ph.D. seminars on accounting research methodologies. His research papers are published in numerous academic and professional journals including: Accounting & Finance, Accounting and the Public Interest, Accounting Horizons, Accounting Research Journal, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Forensic & Investigative Accounting, The CPA Journal, Journal of Applied Accounting Research, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Emerging Technology in Accounting, and Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting. Currently he is a Professor and PhD supervisor in the School of Accounting at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. He is a Chinese Certified Public Accountant and High-Level Accounting Talent (Academia) of the Ministry of Finance. He recently published papers in Emerging Market Review, Journal of Business Ethics, and in Chinese academic journals Research in Economics, Management World, Research in Finance, Research in Accounting, Studies of International Finance, Securities Market Herald, Tsinghua Financial Review. He has presided projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Social Science Foundation of China. He published a monograph Related Party Transaction and Firm Financial Performance: Evidence of Tunneling and Propping of China. Tong Jamie Y. Tong is a senior lecturer of accounting at UQ Business School, University of Queensland. Her research focuses on a few interrelated areas in capital market research in accounting and corporate finance, corporate governance, intangible investments (R&D, CSR, corporate philanthropy etc.), accounting information and top executive characteristics. Her research on these topics has led to over 20 high quality publications including Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Academy of Management Journal (UTD Top24 Journal List), Production and Operations Management (UTD Top24 Journal List), Journal of Corporate Finance, among others. Dr. Ling Mei Cong iscurrently the Deputy Dean, Learning and Teaching at Graduate School of Businessand Law, RMIT University. Ling Mei has 20 years of experience at the tertiary level in the Asia Pacific region, and is a fellow of the ACCA. Ling Mei holds a PhD in accounting from Curtin University. Her main research areas include corporate governance (with focuses on ownership structure, internationalisation strategy and firm performance), financial reporting quality, sustainability reporting and technology-enhanced learning. Her publications appear in leading journals including Technovation. Ling Mei has a passion for digital pedagogies and innovative teaching, and has rich experience in curriculum design. During her academic career, she has received a number of teaching awards including the Open University of Australia Commendation for being an online global performance leader in 2017. The Pearson textbook she co-authored,‘Accounting: An Introduction’, is adopted by various Universities in Australia. She was interviewed by Harvard Business Publishing Education in early 2021 onwomen’s leadership role in Business Schools post-pandemic. ![]() Weihua Li Weihua Li is currently the audit and assurance business partner of Deloitte China, and the leading partner of A-shares listing business of Deloitte in Southern China. She holds China Certified Public Accountant, Securities Industry Chartered Accountant and China M&A Dealer. Ms. Li has more than 20 years of experience in well-known accounting firms at home and abroad, and has provided domestic and overseas IPO audits, annual audits, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, financial consulting and other services for many large companies. Ms. Li used to be a member of the 7th Listing Committee of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and a senior lecturer at the Venture Enterprise Training Center of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. ![]() Josh Henrio Dr. Josh Heniro, is the Senior Director of IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) SEA (Southeast Asia) and Australasia Operations. Since assuming his position at IMA, Josh has been responsible for promoting the value of Management Accounting and the CMA (Certified Management Accountant) programme. Leading the set-up and execution of the strategic priorities of the SEA region, Australia and New Zealand since 2016, Josh’s key focus is to grow and manage IMA’s partnership development efforts with public and private-sector organizations, universities and training providers. He is responsible for all strategic and operational management for the region. He was also responsible for setting up the Southeast Asia team and office, located in Singapore. Apart from management of day-to-day accounting activities, she has considerable experience in statutory reporting, ASX and ASIC compliance, Board and management reporting, data analysis, and tax compliance.
Gloria is now a fellow of ACCA,a member of CPA Australia and CICPA. She obtained Master of Accounting with Distinction from Curtin University. In addition to her professional qualifications, she has also obtained Diploma of Leadership and Risk Management. ![]() Pan Pan Pan Pan received his Bachelor degree of Marketing from Huazhong University of Science and Technology China (top #15 university in China). Pan Pan came to Australia in 2008 to pursuit his further education at Curtin University and graduated in 2010 with a Master of Professional Accounting degree. Pan joined Perth Airport as Vice President Aviation Business Development in Feb 2020. Pan has been involved in operational and commercial roles in both airport and airlines for around 10 years since graduated from Curtin University. Prior to joining Perth Airport, Pan held the position of Sales Executive of Qatar Airways and Sales and Marketing manager of China Southern Airlines, where he was responsible for implementing a growth strategy for both airlines. In 2019, Pan has become a committee member for ACBC WA Education and Tourism Committee, Western Australia and Freight and Logistics Council of WA, and Australia Airport Association. ![]() Yu Hao Hao Yu has a Master degree in Accounting. She used to be the audit manager of the audit department of Deloitte International Accounting Firm, manager of the operation control department of IBM Technology Products Co. Ltd, director and chief accountant of Hubei Tianhua Co. Ltd, financial director of Di Gaole Industrial (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., Chief Financial Officer of Commercial Co. Ltd. ![]() Shengquan Zhang Mr. Zhang is the Director of Aohua Investment Group, Australia. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. He founded Aohua Investment Group in 1999, which includes Aohua Immigration, Aohua International Education, Aohua International Human Resources Company and Aohua Mining Company. He won the Outstanding Contribution Award for Promoting the Exchange between Western Australia and China and the Western Australia Small and Medium-sized Enterprise of the Year Award. In 2003, Aohua Immigration successfully applied the first 132 business talent visa (subclass 132) in Australia.
Aohua International Education has successfully developed nine Sino-foreign cooperative education projects and about 100 inter-school exchange projects. Lin is currently serving as the associate editor at Accounting and Finance. ![]() Yunjiang Geng Yunjiang Geng, born inWeifang, Shandong Province, is a Ph.D and postdoctoral fellow, and is now a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Accounting of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, and executive deputy director of the Management Accounting Research Center of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. The main academic part-time jobs of Professor Geng are the Deputy Secretary General and Executive Director of Financial Cost Branch of China Accounting Society, and the Director of China Cost Research Association. Professor Geng has been selected into the National Leading Accounting Talent Training Project, the Hundred and Ten Thousand Talents Project of Liaoning Province, and the Outstanding Talents Support Plan of Liaoning Province's Colleges and Universities. The Research directions of Professor Geng are cost stickiness and risk management, social responsibility and sustainable development. Professor Geng has published more than 30 papers in Chinese and English journals such as Research on Accounting, Research on Finance and ICIC Express Letters. She has presided over and completed more than 10 scientific research projects, including the National Social Science Fund Project, the China Postdoctoral Science Fund Project, the Social Science Planning Fund Project of Liaoning Province, and the Science Research Project of the Education Department of Liaoning Province. She has independently published 3 monographsand independently compiled or co-edited 4 textbooks. She has won the 1 st prizeof Liaoning Natural Science Academic Achievement Award, the 2 nd prize of Liaoning Philosophy and Social Science Achievement Award, the 2 nd prize of Excellent Paper of Financial Cost Branch of China Accounting Society and other scientific research awards. Professor Geng is also the host of one National First-class Undergraduate Course, the National Excellent Resource Sharing Course lecturer, and the Distinguished Teacher of Colleges and Universities in Liaoning Province. She won the 2 nd prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, the 1 st prize of the Liaoning Provincial Teaching Achievement Award,and the 1 st prize of the Dongbei University of Finance and Economics Teaching Excellence Award. She guided the students to win the national championship of IMA Campus Management Accounting Case Competition and the 2 nd prize of China MPAcc Student Case Competition. ![]() Yan Tian Dr. Yan Tian obtained a Bachelor degree from Shandong University in 2002 and received a Master degree in 2005 and a Ph.D. in 2008 from Capital University of Economics and Business. She visited Rutgers University in US and Curtin University in Australia as a visiting scholar. She was an Associate Professor of Beijing Wuzi University, and the Executive Director of Chinese Association of Productivity Science. Her main research areas are corporate financial behavior and corporate governance and risk management. She mainly engaged in the teaching of "Company Financial Management (Bilingual)", "Investment Analysis and Management (Bilingual)", "Personal Financial Planning", "Corporate Theory and Corporate Governance". In 2013, she presided over the completion of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission's Social Science Plan Project “Research on Enterprise Investment and Financing Behavior in the Financial Economic Cycle”. In 2016, it was successfully approved by the Beijing Social Science Fund Youth Project “Research on the Evaluation and Supervision of Carbon Information Disclosure of Enterprises in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region”. In 2017, it was successfully approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, “The Study of Opportunistic Behavior during the Pledge of Controlling Shareholders' Equity: Forms of Expression, Ways of Action and Governance Mechanisms”.
