The Global Chinese Accounting Association (GCAA), the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance at Curtin University, and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies are proud to present the 5th Global Chinese Accounting Association (GCAA) Summit. The Summit will be held in Guangzhou, China, from 24-25 June 2023. This conference is made possible by an Australia-China Relations Focussed Grant from the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations (the Foundation).


The theme of the conference is Bridging and bonding: Australian and Chinese dialogues on carbon emissions trading and supply chain, information disclosure. This Summit aims to bring together academics and professionals to offer them incredible opportunities to collaborate and discuss the issues around the above topic from a business perspective. This Summit will be a fantastic opportunity for networking and developing collaborative links. We welcome academics and practitioners engaged in environmental management, climate change and low emissions accounting/auditing/finance research and practice to attend this Summit.

Overview of the Journal

The Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal (SAMPJ) brings together research from a range of disciplinary approaches to address social and environmental sustainability challenges and the social and environmental consequences of climate change. SAMPJ seeks to contribute to practical and policy solutions to improve the impact of organisations and societies on sustainable development. The journal takes research and viewpoints from academics, practitioners and consultants in the field.

Call for papers

You are welcome to attend the Summit without submitting a paper. However, authors are invited to share their research findings on issues relevant to the theme of this Summit and could include but is not limited to the following topic areas.

  • Carbon emissions accounting, financing and management performance;

  • Sustainability, ESG, emissions targets and climate change impacts on accounting/financial outcomes, carbon footprint verification systems, carbon performance data supply chains and emission trading systems;

  • Carbon management auditing, assurance, governance and accountability

  • Global carbon accounting supply chains


Paper Selection Process

The selection process will involve two stages. In the first stage, participants are invited to submit their full completed papers to the conference organizer before the deadline as indicated in the invitation. The conference committee will evaluate all the submissions. In the second stage, authors of selected papers will be invited to present their papers at the conference.

  • Full papers: February 15, 2023   

Decision Notification: March 15, 2023

Registration Deadline: May 1, 2023

Conference:June 24-25, 2023


On-site registration is not available. The details of registration will be provided in due course.


Number of attendees

In order to achieve the effectiveness of the forum exchanges, the number of participants is limited to 100.


Presentation

All submissions will be reviewed by two academics or professionals from the conference committee. Each presentation will run 30 minutes including 15 minutes for presentation, 10 minutes for discussion, and 5 minutes for questions and feedback.


Best paper award

Two best papers awards will be given to the authors which will be selected by the committee of this Summit among the presented papers.
